Financial Planning and Investment Advice

Investing is no longer a set and forget strategy. The Global Financial Crisis (GFC) proved that we need to be more vigilant than ever with our investments. With all the available investment choices it's difficult to determine where and what to invest in. A Financial Plan assesses your current financial position, your investment objectives and recommendation to help you achieve your goals.

Our commitment includes:

Initial meeting to discuss your current financial position and goals.
Development of a Statement of Advice outlining the Financial Plan.
Implementation of the Financial Plan.
Ongoing management of the plan, including portfolio management.

Superannuation and Retirement Planning

The day you retire can be the most exciting, and also one of the most daunting. Early planning should relieve the financial stress that retirement may bring.

It is imperative that you generate your own income stream in retirement. The Government pensions are not designed to fund your retirement, but rather to provide for those in most need. To ensure you earn as much in retirement as possible we aim to maximise your income, including any Government pensions, maximise your superannuation and retirement income streams, and minimise your taxation obligations.

Our commitment includes:

Initial meeting to discuss your current financial position and goals.
Development of a Statement of Advice and appropriate recommendations.
Implementation of the recommendations within the Statement of Advice.
Review opportunities for Government entitlements and strategies (eg Age Pension)

Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)

Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs), also referred to as "Do-It-Yourself" Funds (DIY) are a large part of the superannuation environment in Australia.

According to the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) quarterly superannuation performance publication as at 30 September 2012 the following information was provided:

  • 99% of all super funds in Australia are SMSFs, and

  • SMSFs held the largest proportion of superannuation assets (accounting for 31.3% of assets)

Operating an SMSF means you are responsible for the Fund. We will discuss with you the benefits and responsibilities of operating an SMSF.

Our commitment includes:

Establishment, including trustee options (individual vs corporate) and the merits of both.
Investment and Administration Service.
Pension Strategies and Advice.
Taxation Strategies and Advice.
Compliance.

There are numerous publications available. The Australian Taxation Office and ASIC have published a guide on self-managed superannuation. If you are considering starting up an SMSF, this guide may assist as it takes you through six steps to determine if such a fund is right for you.
